Arsenal cruises to 4-0 victory over Norwich City

Arsenal showed aggressiveness. Arsenal showed creativity. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got back on the score sheet. Arsenal took care of business 4-0 against bottom-feeder Norwich City.

The first half saw Arsenal control possession and create several good chances with Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul saving them to keep Norwich in the game. Then, he ultimately helped to break the deadlock. Aubameyang scored his first goal since play resumed after the COVID-19 pandemic as he tapped in a goal off Krul’s careless dribble in the 33rd minute. Aubameyang would then set up captain Granit Xhaka for a goal four minutes later to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The second half saw Arsenal continue to capitalize off Norwich’s mistakes. A cross fell right into the lap of Aubameyang who put it away to give the Gunners a 3-0 lead. Right back Cedric Soares, who made his Arsenal debut, smashed in a long-range curler in the 81st minute to wrap up a 4-0 victory for Arsenal.

While Arsenal played the club in the Premier League in last place, the result was encouraging. Arsenal showed aggressiveness and creativity, something that fans of the club have not often seen in the last few years. The midfield played well and showed initiation all match long. Arsenal have now won back-to-back league games for only the third time this season.

This was an incredible game for Aubameyang. He is now tied with Jamie Vardy for the Golden Boot lead with 19 goals. He also scored his 50th league goal in 79 Premier League games, the fastest in Arsenal history and the sixth fastest in Premier League history.

Arsenal looks to make it three in a row as they head to Wolverhampton on Saturday.
